Spring 2006: Announcements about a University shutdown or closure will appear on our home webpage. If you do not have Internet access, announcements are also available via telephone at 570.662.4499. A University Shutdown refers to a reduction in normal operations during which classes are cancelled and the University is closed to the public. Annual leave is automatically approved for employees who are not at work. A University Closing indicates that all University operations stop with the exception of essential functions such as police services, snow removal, and building maintenance. During a closing, classes are cancelled, the University is closed to the public, and all employees except essential staff are asked to leave at the their earliest convenience following the announced time of the closing. If the University remains open and you are unable to reach campus but still have class or office hours scheduled, you should follow the absence procedures located at the My.Mansfield website ( http://my.mansfield.edu/facstaff/facproc.cfm). It is your responsibility to make sure notice is posted as soon as you determine you will be unable to be present for classes. Your obligations include the following:
If the University is open and you hold class during inclement weather, please be compassionate with students who may not be able to drive safely to campus. If you cannot make it to campus without risk but the University remains open, it is your responsibility to make up work that would have been covered. |
