Strings Camp

2016 Strings Camp with Dr. Jeff Jacobsen!

for String Players Ages 13 -18

If you are a string student looking for a challenging atmosphere where you can improve your skills you should join us this summer for an intensive and fun six day high school String Camp under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey R Jacobsen. The experience will include a string ensemble, chamber music, Master Classes, private lessons, and sessions in music theory and music history. Held on the campus of Mansfield University, the MU Summer String Camp is designed to help you improve your playing skills and prepare you for advanced study in string instruments. Students live in the university residence halls, eat in the university cafeteria and participate in special planned camp social events. As a violin, viola, cello or bass player, you will receive individual guidance from members of the talented string faculty or teachers from the Mansfield University String Project. Each student will be assigned to a small chamber ensemble whether a duo, trio, quartet or even larger. A typical day will include the large ensemble, sectionals, small ensembles, individual lessons, seminars, guest artists and student/ faculty performances. Students will perform in the final concert as well as student talent night.
