2014

Jordan Hallock, English BSE (2014), will be taking an internship for the 2014-2015 school year at Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio in Madrid, Spain teaching English to college students.

Marta Knapp, English and Spanish BSE (2014), will also be taking an internship for the 2014-2015 school year at Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio in Madrid, Spain teaching English to college students. She also recently passed her PA teaching certification.

Cameron Murphy, English BA (2014), is currently in the MA program in English at St. John's University.

Rachel Sterling, English BA (2014), is currently in the MFA program in Creative Writing at the University of Pittsburgh. 


2013

Caitlin Johnson, English BSE (2013), was a Store Consultant/Management Aid for Baldwin's Book Barn in 2013. She is currently a Substitute Teacher for Source4Teachers and AESOP.

Samantha Lienhard, English BA (2013), is currently in the Writing Popular Fiction program at Seton Hill University. She has published Sacreya's Legacy, a serial novella about a zombie detective. She has also published The Accidental Zombie, a comedy novella about "two definitely-not-mad-scientists," and The Book at Dernier. As a freelance writer, she has written product descriptions for Wizards of the West, edited selections for the travel collection In Hot Water and Other Tales of Travel Humor, and created and edited content for the video game website Cheats.co.

Levi Tinney, English BSE (2013), is Secondary generalist teaching at the Nondalton School in Alaska, about 150 miles southwest of Anchorage. Levi went to Alaska to student teach and decided to stay there.


2012

Emily Rose Cole, English and French BA (2012), is a freelance content writer, editor, and poetry enthusiast. She is also a part-time folk musician whose debut album, I Wanna Know, was released in May of 2012.


2010

Tiffany Kirk, English BA (2010), has worked as Presentation Team Member at Target since 2005.

Danielle Shulamith Muller, English BA (2010), received her MA in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies at Colorado State University in 2012 and is currently Student Solution Advisor at Jones International University.

Savanna Jennings Parker, English BA (2010), is currently PACSES (Pennsylvania's Automated Child Support Enforcement System) Administrator for Bradford County.


2009

Rebecca Gibbon, English BA (2009), is currently at Rochester Institute of Technology studying for her MS in Networking and System Administration and works as IT Support Specialist at Miller Mayer LLP in Ithaca, NY.

Katie Kingsley, English BSE (2009), is teaching 9th and 12th grade English in the Wellsboro School District.

Michele Reed, English BSE (2009), is teaching 9th and 10th grade English at North Dorchester High School in Maryland.

Amanda Shumway, English BSE (2009), is teaching 8th, 10th and 12th grade English at Sayre Junior/Senior High School.


2008

Joe Gridley, English BA (2008), graduated from the Claude W Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University. He worked as an intern in public service lawyering at Ohio Northern University Civil Clinic, Public Defender Clinic, and Corporate Transactions Clinic. He later moved to Indianapolis to work as a Staff Attorney at Renaissance Administration, then moved to New York to work as an Attorney at Stanley Law Offices and Business Development Specialist at Staffworks, Inc. He is currently a Staff Attorney at Minita.

Hannah Killian, English BA (2008), graduated with an MSLS from Clarion University in 2010. From 2008-2011, she was Circulation and Reference Assistant at Fredricksen Library in Camp Hill, PA. From 2011-2014, she was Head of Youth Services at Parkland Community Library in Allentown, PA. She currently works at Youth Collections Coordinator in the Dauphin County Library System in Harrisburg, PA and is developing the juvenile and young adult collections for eight libraries.

Mary Nance, English BSE (2008), is teaching 7th grade English in the Wellsboro School District.

Bobbi VanDruff, English BSE (2008), is currently teaching English at Mansfield High School. 


2007

Caitlin Hatcher, English BA (2007), graduated Western Carolina University with M.A. in English in 2009 with a dual concentration in Composition & Rhetoric/Professional Writing. Awarded Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant. From 2009-2013, she taught 7th & 8th grade ELA at Southern Tioga SD. From 2011-2013, she was Adjunct Professor of Composition at PA College of Technology. From 2013 to present, she has been teaching 7th & 8th grade ELA at Corning Free Academy. Next year, she will be teaching 7th grade ELA at the new middle school.

Ed Kozaczka, English BSE (2007), completed an MA in English Literature from Binghamton University and is nearing completion of his PhD in English Literature at the University of Southern California. 

Jamie Sweitzer-Brandstadter, English BSE (2007), started teaching English at Mansfield High School within a month of her graduation from MU. She received her MA in English from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College, Vermont in 2013, and her essay "The Innocence of Ice" appeared in the anthology Facing the Change: Personal Encounterers with Global Warming (Torrey House Press, 2013). She currently teaches English at Dover Area High School in Dover, PA


2006

Wes Cromley, English BA (2006), worked as a teacher in Pennsylvania Treatment and Healing's Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth program in Milton, PA. Her currently teaches English and contemporary literature at Midd-West High School in Middleburg, PA.


2005

Joe Callahan, English BA (2005), is a graduate student pursuing his MFA in Creative Writing at Antioch University in Los Angeles.

Cara Jones, English BA (2005), completed her MA then PhD in English at Louisiana State University – Baton Rouge and is currently a visiting professor at Hamilton College.

2003

Erin Delaney, English BA (2003), completed her MA in Creative Writing at Wilkes University in 2007. Her poem "america, to Allen,” which she wrote in Dr. Sornberger's poetry class back in 2001, was published in "Poems Against War: Bending Toward Justice." She is a Board Member of Mulberry Poets and Writers Association and on the Editorial Board of VimFire Magazine.

Richard Lupinsky, English BA (2003), served in the Peace Corps in Tanzania, 2003-2005. In 2010, he graduated from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law at University Park. He was a law clerk for Blair County Court of Common Pleas and is now an attorney in Holidaysburg. He was selected as one of 10 members of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Bar Leadership Institute.

Amanda Webb, English BA (2003), finished the requirements for the B.S.E. and graduated with her teaching certification. Before graduating from Mansfield University, she applied to be an English Teaching Assistant in France and was accepted into the program in May 2004. For the past two years, she has been living in France, teaching English to elementary school students in the French public school system. Next year, she will be teaching English to 2nd and 3rd year medical students at the Medical School in Nantes, France. In a recent email, Amanda said, "I am excited about my new position and I am confident that with my experience from Mansfield I will be a successful educator." Robert "Bert" Bones, English BA (2000), earned his Master's in Education in 2002 and now works for The University of Rochester in the Department of Residential Life. He teaches "Leadership in the College Community" each Spring and can be reached at rbones@reslife.rochester.edu.

Tom Saveri, English BA (2000), became Assistant Director of Scott-White Real Estate Institute from 2005-2006. From 2008-2009, he was Owner and Manager of Fish GMAC Real Estate in Wellsboro, PA. Since 2009, Tom has been Broker/Owner of United Country Realty Pioneers in Wellsboro, PA.

Heather Madden, English BA (1996), earned an MA in English from New Mexico State University in 1998, and recently completed her MFA at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. In 2004, she was the recipient of the Earle S. Ho Award for Outstanding Teaching in Creative Writing at Indiana University.

Paul Nolan, English BA (1996), earned an MA in English from SUNY-Oswego in 2002. He has worked as a corporate book editor, in university career services, as a musician, and now teaches English at Cayuga Community College. Contact Paul at pjnolan74@hotmail.com or nolan@cayuga-cc.edu.


1994

Kerry Jones, English BA (1994), minored in Creative Writing and Philosophy. After attending Temple University, she earned her MFA in creative writing from Wichita State University, where she is an instructor of English and Director of the Writing Center. Her fiction has appeared in many literary journals, including The GSU Review, Yalobusha Review, Orchid: A Literary Review, Whimperbang, and Night Train. She is the 2002 Richard Yates Short Story Award winner and received a special mention in the 2005 Pushcart Prize Anthology. She recently completed her first novel, Dimestore Rita.
