Sponsored by The Marcellus Institute at Mansfield University, the Marcellus Camp is an opportunity for students in grades 10-12 to learn about the development of shale gas resources in Pennsylvania and the career and educational opportunities available after high school!
Campers will receive an introduction to the natural gas industry and possible career paths by participating in hands-on learning sessions presented by Mansfield University faculty and staff as well as field experts on a variety of topics. Several Field Trips are planned throughout the camp including learning sessions at a local Southwestern Energy well site and a water quality testing site. Learning sessions are also scheduled to include topics such as jobsite safety, GIS, and basic geology. The camp schedule ti supplemented with recreational and teamwork activities.
