The Mansfield University Concert Choir will embark on their eighth European Tour on Wednesday at 10:15 am from the lower Butler Center parking lot! The fifteen-day tour will take them to Amsterdam, The Hague, Bruges, Brussels, Cologne, Limburg, and Rüdesheim, some of the loveliest sites in Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, where they will take part in the 2017 Harmonie Festival in Limburg. More than 6000 singers from 219 choirs representing 37 different nations and cultures will join together in this festive competition. The MU choir will perform in four separate categories: Mixed Choir, Male Choir, Female Choir, and Sacred Music.
Peggy Dettwiler, director of the Concert Choir, states: “The students are very excited about the prospect of visiting these countries, of experiencing new cultures, and sharing their choral music with audiences abroad. They have been working hard in rehearsing the repertory with which they will be traveling and competing; it is a fabulous group of 50 students, and I am sure they will be wonderful ambassadors for Mansfield University, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the United States of America.”
Stop by the Butler Center at 10 am to give them a royal send-off!
