The Nutrition Program's Dietetics Concentration s a part of the Health Sciences Department at Mansfield University. It is one of two concentrations within the Nutrition Program. which is one of six major programs offered by the Department of Health Sciences at Mansfield University. Other majors in the department are nursing, radiology technology, respiratory therapy, safety management, and community health educator.
The Nutrition and Dietetics Program has been in existence at Mansfield University since the 1970’s. The Mansfield University Nutrition and Dietetics program is currently accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (Formerly Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education) the accrediting agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, 800/877-1600 ext 5400.
This program provides the didactic instruction required to meet the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (Formerly Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education) Foundation Knowledge and Skills for Entry-Level Dietitians and Standards of Education. This program allows graduates to apply for an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (Formerly Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education) supervised practice program, which leads to eligibility to write the registration examination for dietitians.
Career opportunities for graduates of this program include working in: hospitals, physicians’ offices, long-term care centers, and other health care facilities; wellness centers; food and nutrition related businesses; community and public health; private practice; universities and medical centers; and research centers.
The mission of the dietetics program at Mansfield University is to integrate the strong liberal arts emphasis of the University with knowledge and skills necessary for progressing toward goals foundational to careers in foods and nutrition, graduate school and/or post-baccalaureate internships.

All but one of Mansfield University’s Nutrition Program’s Dietetics concentration graduates who have completed a post-baccalaureate internship and taken the Registered Dietitian’s Examination over the past ten years have passed the examination.
