Students must already hold a teaching certificate, unless waived (e.g. with a pre-existing arrangement by a state, district or school to obtain teaching credentials)
Pass 10 core courses, a one-credit Introductory course, and either a three-credit culminating Practicum or a one-credit Portfolio course with a cumulative 3.0 Grade point Average
Take the Praxis II Subject specialty test, if not already certified in library media
Satisfy all Dept of Education requirements (e.g. Clearances)

Students work closely with a faculty adviser (we'll contact you shortly after you apply to discuss registration and orientation)
New students typically start with the one credit Introductory Seminar (LSC 5500) and one three-credit course

PA students can satisfy 90 Act 48 hours with one 3-credit course
Request Act 48 credits via Credit Keeper
View credits via PDE's Professional Education Record Management System (PERMS) system to check progress towards 180 hour Act 48 requirement for each five year period
