Session 1: Monday, May 20 - Friday, Aug. 9
Last day to Add/Drop: Friday, May 24
Session 2: Monday, May 20 - Friday, June 28
Last day to Add/Drop: Wednesday, May 22
Session 2 (Accelerated Online only): Monday, May 20 - Friday, June 14
Last day to Add/Drop: Tuesday, May 21  
Session 3: Monday, July 1 - Friday, Aug. 9
Last day to Add/Drop: Wednesday, July 3
Session 3 (Accelerated Online only): Monday, July 1 - Friday, July 26
Last day to Add/Drop: Tuesday, July 2

How summer classes work

  • Concentrated classes in four or six week sessions
  • 90-minute to three hour classes, four or five days per week, online and face-to-face
  • Hundreds of course sections to choose from
  • Focus on one course at a time
  • Possible to fit in a whole semester.
    Maximum of 7 credits during any six-week session. Students can schedule a maximum of 14 total credits during the summer term.
  • Students say it helps with tough courses
  • Courses transferable to most universities - check with your school to be sure

If you plan on taking courses at Commonwealth University but not completing a degree you are considered a "Non-degree" student.  This might apply to students who enrolled at another institution, high school students taking college credit, or a number of other unique situations.
