Richard N. and Doris M.Talbot Endowed Scholarship
In 2007, the family of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Talbot chose to honor his successes and 30 years of service through gifts to establish a named endowed scholarship. We thought you may also appreciate the opportunity to show your respect, gratitude and affection for Mr. Talbot by making a gift to his scholarship endowment.
He is credited for developing and leading an internationally recognized marching band and for the Mountie Marching Band to be named the first Bicentennial Marching Band in the United States. You may recall his words – “The rule that we had for the band really tells the tale. ‘The rule was that anything that you do should: 1) bring respect to yourself 2) bring respect to your family 3) bring respect to the university. If it doesn’t, then don’t do it. It’s that simple. It’s the only rule we had for the band.’” (hear a recording of Mr.Talbot)
Support from alumni is a great way to show your respect for Mr. Talbot while also showing current and future students how the hard work and generous commitment of instructors like him made an impact on your time at Mansfield and in your career and relationships. Please consider making a gift today of $125, $100, $75, $50, or $25 to honor Mr. Talbot.
