The prospect of going abroad for an extended time may make you, your family, or your friends anxious about your life outside the United States.
Mansfield University monitors very carefully the security situation in the many cities around the world where Mansfield students study. The staff at the International Student Exchange Program offices in Washington also takes security very seriously and keeps in touch constantly with all ISEP coordinators everywhere.
It may be helpful for you and your family to compare the risks of studying abroad with the routine but less-noticed risks of visiting large cities across the United States, with participating in athletic programs, with doing internships in urban areas, with driving on slippery roads, and with the countless other risks American college students face on a daily basis.
