Dr. Lee Wright
 

Lee Wright Ph.D., chair of the Communication/Theatre department, received his undergraduate degree from Mansfield University in 1982 in Speech Communication. He earned his Master's in Communication from Murray State University in Kentucky, a second Master's degree in Mass Communication and a Ph.D. in Human Communication from the University of Denver.

Dr. Wright returned to Mansfield University as a professor in 1990. Before coming to Mansfield, He taught at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, and Murray State University, in Murray, Kentucky.

From 1990-1997, Dr. Wright coached the MU Forensics team. Under his direction, in 1993, the forensics team finished 10th in the nation, at the National Forensics Association (NFA) National Speech Tournament in the small college division. The team also finished 1st in the nation at the Novice National Tournament. He also serves as the advisor to the department-sponsored national honor fraternity, Lambda Pi Eta.

Dr. Wright is a member of the National Communication Association, the American Forensic Association, and the National Forensic Association. Dr. Wright has served as chair of the University President and Provost Evaluation Committee. He also serves on the Assessment Committee.
