Students are assigned an advisor when they declare their major. However, students may ask a faculty member to be their advisor. A list of all Department majors and their advisors is posted on Web Advisor.
All students who fail to maintain a 2.00 Q.P.A. will be contacted by the Chair and encouraged to meet with their advisor on a regular basis.
Students must meet with their advisor before registering for their classes. Prior to registration, faculty will contact (usually via email), asking students to sign up for an appointment. Students register based on how many credits they have earned. First semester freshman have earned zero. |
Preparing for Advising:
- Review the Web Advisor for available courses.
- Check Course Offering Information (Schedule and Instructions) on the Registrar's website; you'll find the date that you can begin to register for classes.
- Print a current/up-to-date copy of your Program Evaluation ("Evaluate Program") on Web Advisor.
- Sign up for an appointment as directed by your advisor.
- Be prompt for your appointment. Bring your 1) Program Evaluation, 2) tentative schedule, and 3) information about optional classes. Your advisor will not meet with you if you do not bring all of these items.
