AAC is about to consider the following package from Music:
Addition of a SOPHOMORE REVIEW
In addition to checking students' grades and progress
during the first three semesters, the Music Department
proposes a Sophomore Review during February of the second
sophomore semester. REVIEW COMPONENTS: 1. Performance on major instrument 2. Sight singing 3. Conducting for meter identification 4. Written career goals (failing this area would not preclude continuation, but would necessitate monitoring the student closely.) 5. QPA review 6. Piano proficiency progress review
With the exception of the written career goal component, a student who fails two of the remaining five components would be placed on probation and not allowed to continue until successful remediation has taken place.
