AAC is about to consider a packet of proposed changes from the Art Department:
CREDIT HOURS CHANGE: ART 510, 511, 512, 513,514,515,516,517,519,565 change from 3 credit hours to 1-12 credit hours (each course will change to 1-6 credit hours and may be repeated once for new credit)
CREDIT HOURS CHANGE: ARH 501 change from 3 credit hours to 1-12 credit hours (the course will change to 1-6 credit hours and may be repeated once for new credit)
NEW COURSE: ART 291 Photography Description: The study of black and white, and digital photography. Emphasis is on camera skills, darkroom techniques, and the understanding of photographic imagery. 3 undergraduate credits (1 lecture 5 lab)
NEW COURSE: ART 392 Advanced Photography Description: A more in-depth study and understanding of black and white, and digital photography. Prerequisite: ART 291 1-6 undergraduate credits (1 lecture 5 lab) May be repeated for a maximum of 12 credits
NEW COURSE: ART 518 Photography Description: Advanced techniques in black and white, and digital photography. Explores mechanical, photochemical, and digital manipulation of photographic prints. Prerequisite: ART 291 or demonstrated proficiency 1-6 graduate credits (1 lecture 5 lab) May be repeated for a maximum of 12 credits
COURSE CHANGE: Title change and course content change for ARH 409/509 Old title: ARH 409 Women in Art Old description: A study of the accomplishments and contributions of women in art and architecture from antiquity to the 20th century. Women as subjects in art will also be examined with emphasis on the cultural and artistic milieu in which they are represented. New title: ARH 409 Women in Ancient Greek Art New description: A study of women as subjects and patrons of ancient Greek art, with emphasis on the cultural and artistic milieu in which they are represented. Old title: ARH 509 Women in Art Old description: A study of the accomplishments and contributions of women in art and architecture from antiquity to the 20th century. Women as subjects in art will also be examined with emphasis on the cultural and artistic milieu in which they are represented New title: ARH 509 Women in Ancient Greek Art New description: A study of women as subjects and patrons of ancient Greek art, with emphasis on the cultural and artistic milieu in which they are represented. |
