The attached PROGRAM CHANGE is being proposed by the
Department of History and Political Science.
**Please note: The bulk of these
course deletions, course changes, and new courses were
passed by the University Senate on Thursday, 2/8. (see
C.A.N. 1/26/00)
AAC has delayed discussion of the Program change proposal
(and course deletions and changes effecting other minors)
until we receive a report from the Academic Planning
Committee.

Century (formerly HST 104). Number changed to
provide three semester sequence for World
Civilization courses.
HST 265: History of Sports in American
Society (formerly HST 205). Number changed to
provide upper level course in Sports History,
consistent with sports history offerings at other
institutions.
HST 366: Twentieth Century Europe. Course
description changed.
HST 388: History of Africa. Course
description changed and prerequisite
deleted.
6. Establish equivalencies for students
currently enrolled at Mansfield University.
HST 111 and 112 will satisfy the
current ER requirement of HST 101 and 102.
HST 290 will satisfy the current ER
requirement of HST 300.
HST 305, 307, 389, 431 will satisfy the
current ER requirement for 20th century U.S.
history.

One additional history course for Women's Studies
minor.
One additional history course for African American
Studies minor.
Two fewer history courses for Latin American
Studies minor, but revised courses will be more
comprehensive and will be offered more frequently.
