The department of Health Sciences has requested the following curricular actions:
#1 Action: New Course Proposal Purpose and Nature of Course: To
introduce Mansfield University Students to the nutrient
needs and food habits of people of different countries,
cultures, and ethnic backgrounds.
#2 Action: New Course Request Form Purpose and Nature of Course: An
in depth look into nutrition and exercise and how they work
together to prevent chronic disease.
#3 Action: New Program Proposal : Nutrition Minor Rationale for program: Students
have been requesting a nutrition minor. Until this semester,
there was only one tenure track professor in nutrition. A
second tenure track professor was hired this year to teach
nutrition courses.Consequently there is adequate faculty to
support teaching and advising students in this minor. Program Objectives: The student will be able to :
Impact on other programs: This program is unlikely to have any negative impacts on other programs offered at Mansfield University. This minor is expected to have a positive impact on the nutrition and dietetics and sports nutrition programs at Mansfield University.
