Purpose and nature of change: __Submit course for approval
as
a General Education course
Course Description for Catalog (limit to four sentences):
The founding and development of Pennsylvania, emphasizing the social,
political, and economic characteristics of the Commonwealth and the
diversity of its people.
Request that Course be considered for General Education Credit.
Provide Support for this request.
This course has already been approved for the Information Literacy
requirement. As a survey of state history, it fulfills the requirements
for the Humanities block (HST 1111, 1112, 1113, 2201, and 2202 as
surveys of world and American history are already included). The course
requirements include methods by which students will be assessed in
the areas of critical thinking, analytical thinking, and communication,
ensuring that the students will have artifacts for their General Education
portfolios.

Purpose and nature of change: To expand the scope of special
topics courses and make _them more specific to a particular region.
This change will make it easier to advise students.
Old Course Title: _Topics in History_____
New Course Title: _Topics in Global History

area of world history that is of current interest.

History
Purpose and Nature of Course: __To expand the scope of special
topics courses and make them more specific to a particular region.
This change will make it easier to advise students.

A special area that is of current interest in European history.
Request that Course be considered for General Education Credit
Provide support for this request.
The course requirements include methods by which students will be
