CURRICULAR ACTION NOTICE: NURSING 1.
PROGRAM
CHANGE: MSN Program Department__Health Sciences___________________ Rationale for change: Change in admission requirements
for MSN program. A review of admission requirements for other MSN programs indicated that the MU program requires more prerequisite courses for admission than other programs. A new course, NUR 4417-- Community
Practices and Principles, can be offered as an online individualized
instruction for students who did not have community health nursing as part
of their basic nursing curriculum. NUR 4471 for RN students is offered once
every three years. New Degree and Program Title (attach a new ER): No change List all changes: Admission requirements to MSN program: ·

(limit to four sentences): Community Nursing Practice
& Principles will provide registered nurses who did not have community
health principles in their basic nursing programs with information on aspects
of practice unique to functioning in community and public health settings. The
course includes theoretical and practice models that are basic to preparing
students for the specialty of Community Health Nursing. Students in this course
will learn to apply the nursing process to a community client using the Neuman
Systems Model. Describe any student enrollment
