Academic Affairs (P. Junius)

[B. Keeth moved to take 2 items involving processes and procedures for how Gen. Ed. courses are approved off the table. This motion passed, but it was later found that there were no tabled items. The issue was to be determined by Senate Exec.]

1.     Curricular Action Notice: Request for GES Approval, CHM 1103

This is an existing course; GES and then AAC approved it for Gen. Ed. Status.

PASSED

2.     Curricular Action Notice: Request for GES Approval, AHD 2201

This is an existing course; GES and then AAC approved it as a Wellness course.

PASSED

3.     Program Change Proposal: African American Studies Minor (Approved) Note: under rationale for change, should read “effective Fall 2008.”

PASSED

4.     Course Change Request, SPE 4420 (approved)

PASSED

5.     New course Request, XRT 3309 (approved)

The issue was raised that this is a 3000-level course as part of an Associates degree program. Using course numbers in the 3000s is not new, but should not be an issue that stops this course from being approved. The numbering of Associates degree courses may be revisited later as a separate issue.
