In the B.A. English - Literary and Cultural Analysis concentration, you will learn to interpret literature and culture. You will gain broad knowledge of literature and culture, study authors from diverse backgrounds, situate literary works in context, apply critical methods, and develop strong research and writing skills.
In the B.A. English - Professional Writing concentration, you will learn to write for the workplace. While you prepare for a career in any number of fields, you will learn to write effective reports and other professional documents, write for the Web and social media, copy edit, design for print and media, and gain valuable job searching and interviewing skills. Many of our professional writing majors also intern on and off campus.
If you want to become an English teacher, the B.S.Ed. Professional Studies in Secondary Education (with English Education Concentration) will provide you with a solid foundation in English language and literature.
