All full-time undergraduate degree seeking students' at Mansfield University qualify for FIT and the FREEZE Housing Rates programs. Students enrolled in summer and/or winter terms, on-line degree programs, graduate degree programs, dual enrollment coursework, and/or second degree seeking students do not qualify for a rate freeze.
A student's tuition rate does not change for 8 semesters (fall and spring only) over five consecutive years; this allows a student to take two semesters off without seeing a tuition rate increase. FIT does not apply to students enrolled in summer and/or winter terms, on-line degree programs, graduate degree programs, dual enrollment coursework, and/or second degree seeking students.

A student may suspend studies at Mansfield University for up to two semesters; so long as they return by the beginning of the third semester they will have the same tuition rate when they left. When a student returns to Mansfield University after a cumulative absence of more than two semesters, their FIT tuition rate will be frozen at the new current rate. This resets the clock to eight semesters over five consecutive years. If a student leaves a Mansfield University residence hall and wishes to return, the housing rate will be frozen at the current rate. Housing rates are established each year by the Mansfield University Trustees.
FIT and Freeze Housing Rates do not apply to the summer and winter terms.
FIT applies to online courses only if a student is taking a blend of online and on campus coursework.
