The Bachelor of Arts Program in Philosophy is designed to provide students with a solid grounding in European and American philosophies, including their histories and cultures. Philosophy courses at Mansfield University are primarily concentrated in areas such as ethics, aesthetics, theology, and law.
Completion of the Philosophy Program prepares students through its major and minor concentrations to further their education, particularly in the areas of applied and professional ethics, law, and leadership. Many Philosophy graduates choose careers in healthcare, health science, organizational leadership, and environmental sciences.
This program provides a rigorous course of study. Philosophy courses are reading, writing, and thought-intensive. However, many Philosophy majors find reward in this. Additionally, the faculty and staff of the Philosophy Program strongly support their students with close advising, detailed assistance, and supervision.
