For specific course and program requirements, please consult the current undergraduate catalog.
The Associate of Applied Science Program in Respiratory Therapy is designed to develop competent, advanced-level respiratory therapists. This training program is jointly sponsored by Mansfield University and Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. Students spend their first two semesters on campus completing prerequisite general education courses. The remainder of the program consists of 15 months of intensive classroom, laboratory, and clinical coursework at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Clinical training at Robert Packer Hospital is supplemented by clinical experiences at other area hospitals.
Completion of the Respiratory Therapy Program prepares students for both the entry-level Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and the advanced-level Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential exams.
This program provides a high-quality academic curriculum in the classrooms at Mansfield University and a guided approach to clinical experience at Guthrie’s Robert Packer Hospital. The Respiratory Therapy Program integrates Mansfield University’s focus on the liberal arts with the knowledge, skills, and values that promote health and well-being.
