Operation Gratitude & Operation Shoebox
The MU Veteran Support Group would like to remind all students, faculty and staff there is a very simple way one can support our troops...online.
Operation Gratitude seeks to lift the spirits, meet the evolving needs of the U.S. Military, and provide volunteer opportunities for Americans to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation.
Every year, Operation Gratitude sends 300,000+ individually addressed care packages to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen deployed overseas as well as to their children left behind. Each package contains snacks, hygiene products, entertainment, and handmade items, as well as personal letters of support.
Operation Shoebox provides hands-on support for our troops deployed overseas and returning home. Whether it is packing coffee, socks, toothpaste and sports gear into care packages or sending letters of encouragement.
In 2017, 114 tons of supplies were sent to hardworking members of the U.S. military around the world. When you give a tax-deductible donation, 100% of your gift goes directly to shipping costs and care package supplies. Honor the sacrifices that members of our armed forces make every day by contributing to our mission today.
Please go online and make a commitment to either www.operationgratitude.com or www.operationshoebox.com as soon as you can. You will feel better and so will our service men and women.
Mansfield University is honored to waive the application fee for all Veterans and provide priority scheduling of academic classes at the beginning of each semester for both Veterans and Active Duty Military.
