Summer 2024 Sessions:
First Year - June 3, 21 & 24 (select one)
Transfer - July 17
Important Information:
All students new to Mansfield University are required to attend an either on-campus or virtual Orientation. First-year students should plan on participating in one of June sessions. Transfer students can plan to join us on July 17th. Those who did not attend can join a virtual session at a later date but in-person is recommended.
The Orientation fee will be added to the Fall/Spring invoice.
Mission:
Our mission for New Student Orientation is to provide you with the tools and information that will allow you to be successful at Mansfield University. We strive for a smooth transition to your new academic experience.
Anticipated Outcomes:
By participating in orientation, students will:
- Feel prepared to transition to college life at Mansfield University
- Become familiar with both the campus and local environment
- Make connections new and current students
- Meet with a faculty member
- Become familiar with campus resources available to all students
- Be provided with an understanding of academic policies and procedures
- Familiarize yourself with the people and places necessary for your success at Mansfield University
Instructions:
All e-mail communications will be done through your Mansfield University e-mail account so it is of utmost importance for you to know how to access this as soon as possible. Your student ID number and new Mansfield email address are included in your confirmation of deposit letter, through your Admissions portal. Use the temporary password to set up your own password.
Important Details:
- Register for the Orientation event through the New Student Orientation email you will receive from the University.
- An Orientation fee will be added to your first semester invoice.
- Detailed information will be sent via email. Be sure that you are able to access your Mansfield email account.

Join us for Mountie Days (Fall only). Lots of fun and free event. First-Year students are required to attend some of the events (see items in red). This is for both residential & commuter students.
All new incoming students are required to complete a Health Evaluation Report. Forms must be completed and submitted to the address on the form prior to the first day of classes or move in. If your form is completed before your orientation date we would be happy to relay it to the clinic for you, just bring it with you to orientation and submit it during the paperwork session at the end of the day.

The hiring process for new Orientation Leaders happens in the Spring semester. Qualifications include strong communication skills, a working knowledge of campus life and the willingness to help assist new students and their families with the transition to Mansfield University.
