Psi Chi is the national honor society in psychology. It provides academic prestige to its initiates by the mere fact of membership and is dedicated to the mission of encouraging, stimulating, and maintainingacademic excellence in scholarship. Membership in Psi Chi is a true way to stand out to any graduate school or future employer, being the most recognized student group in the field of psychology.
The honor society is a springboard for professional growth. Opportunities are made available to the members for promoting their research, receiving national and international recognition, meeting and interacting with leaders in the field, and meeting Psi Chi members of other chapters who also will be future leaders.
Psi Chi is one of the leading organizations in the publication of undergraduate research. The honor society publishes two quarterly publications, Eye on Psi Chi and the Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research. Members are welcome to submit and present their research material at both regional and national conferences. Psi Chi also sponsors a wide variety of both award competitions and research grants each year.
Psi Chi is open to undergraduate students at Mansfield University who have registered as a major or minor in psychology and demonstrated profound academic achievement. Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.0 in psychology courses. Students must also be in the top 35% of their respected classes and be at least a second semester sophomore.
