About Me

Dr. Rebecca A. Parks is an Associate Professor at Mansfield University in the Department of Education/Special Education teaching undergraduate educational theory and pedagogy courses focused on Early Childhood education. Rebecca continues to provide consulting services to regional school districts and preschools in partnership with Teaching Today’s Teachers, a private education consulting firm which she formerly was the Director of Consulting and Operations.  Prior to her employment at Mansfield University, Rebecca was a Fellow with the Michigan Virtual Learning Research Institute (MVLRI) and iNACOL’s New Learning Models team in for several research projects designed to advance the field of K-12 online and blended learning. As a past full-time visiting professor at Elmira College, Rebecca taught various content courses to pre-service teachers in childhood education and developed a comprehensive student teaching experience in Amsterdam, Netherlands for selected students. In addition, she has over a decade of practitioner experience in the elementary grades in New York, Virginia, and in Exmouth, England.  Dr. Parks holds a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction and has research interests in new and emerging learning models, effective professional development in PK-12 education, and online/blended learning.
