Peter B. and Grace A. Murray Scholarship
Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to:
1. A first year entering student as a full-time Psychology major.
2. Student must have a demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to a student who is a first-generation college student or who had to overcome difficult economic circumstances to be able to enter college.
3. Must obtain a minimum SAT score of 1100. (Check for changes)
4. The applicant must submit a short essay (no more than 500 words) to the Psychology Department describing the applicant's:
a. personal, co-curricular and community experiences which motivate and demonstrate his or her interest in and commitment to studying Psychology.
b. academic and career goals related to the study of Psychology.
c. essay is required for this scholarship
Please read #4 carefully for the details on the essay requirement, and please also include some background about yourself and family and in particular who has attended college in your immediate family.
Keller Scholarship
Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to:
1. Psychology majors in their second through fourth years of study
2. Students who provide leadership for learning and service to the department, university campus or community
3. Recipients must have an overall GPA of at least 3.25 and maintain that GPA during the semester this scholarship is received
The award will be renewable and students may receive the award for a maximum of 3 years.
Seidel Scholarship
Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to:
1. Student athletes who are majoring in psychology at MU.
a. One (1) $450 annual scholarship will be awarded to a psychology major who is a student athlete, has an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, and has completed 30 or more credits at the time of the application for the scholarship.
2. Preference will be given to qualifying student athletes playing basketball, baseball, or softball.
3. The award will be for one year only and consist of $225 per semester, renewable for the second semester based on academic performance in the first semester.
4. To be eligible for the spring semester award, students must continue to be student athletes and earn at least a 3.0 GPA overall in the fall semester.
Returning Psychology Student
Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to:
1. Psychology majors who have completed 30 or more credits (at Mansfield University) at the time of application for the scholarship and demonstrate outstanding character, integrity, scholarship, and campus or community service.
2.The two $500 awards will be for one year only and consist of $250 per semester, renewable for the second semester based on academic performance in the first semester.
3. To be eligible for these awards, students must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA overall and in the major.
