The Mansfield University President's Commission on the Status of Women began in 1990. We work together to educate the campus community in the area of women's issues.
Our Mission: To advocate on behalf of women and to keep the President advised of women's issues related to Mansfield University.

The President's Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) and the Office of Student Life and Living are now accepting applications from female students to attend the 29th Annual PASSHE Undergraduate Women's Leadership Institute. This year, the Institute will be held at the McKeever Environmental Learning Center in Sandy Lake, PA from Sunday June 4, 2017 through Thursday, June 8, 2017.
The Leadership Institute for Undergraduate Women provides a forum for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education to nurture the leadership potential of women students. It creates an experience that empowers women as leaders, challenges women to realize their full potential as leaders, and connects women with other women who are committed to social change.
The goals for the Undergraduate Women's Leadership Institute are to:
To apply, please send your name, major, contact information, and a brief description (500 words or less) stating why you should be chosen to attend this Women's Leadership Institute to the Chair of the PCSW, Dr. Gretchen Sechrist (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Monday, April 17, 2017.
Students selected to represent Mansfield University at this conference will be expected to attend the entire conference (June 4-8), read materials provided before attending the Institute, be active participants in discussions, and develop a campus project to be conducted next year. The cost of lodging, meals, and educational materials will be covered by Mansfield University. The only cost to students will be travel to the McKeever Center and personal expenses.
