The Bachelor of Science Program in Safety Management is designed to integrate the health and human perspectives with the technical and applied sciences related to the safety science discipline. The program addresses the human factors of the safety profession with a focus on communication, ethics, leadership, psychology, and other key aspects of occupational health and safety. It also covers the essential components of safety management including policy, risk management, safety assurance, and safety promotion.
Completion of the Safety Management Program prepares students for a career in safety management for the natural gas and energy industries as well as numerous occupational health and safety positions that serve other regional industries.
This program provides students with basic knowledge and professional skills in safety science and management. Special attention is given to OSHA rules and regulations covering the workplace. Students in this program receive specific preparation for managing work site safety.
